Oo-de-lally

Robin Hood and Little John
Walkin’ through the forest
Laughin’ back and forth
At what the other’ne has to say
Reminiscin’, This-‘n’-thattin’
Havin’ such a good time
Oo-de-lally, Oo-de-lally
Golly, what a day
Never ever thinkin’ there was danger in the water
They were drinkin’, they just guzzled it down
Never dreamin’ that a schemin’ sherrif and his posse
Was a-watchin’ them an’ gatherin’ around
Robin Hood and Little John
Runnin’ through the forest
Jumpin’ fences, dodgin’ trees
An’ tryin’ to get away
Contemplatin’ nothin’
But escape an’ fin’lly makin’ it
Oo-de-lally, Oo-de-lally
Golly, what a day
Oo-de-lally, Oo-de-lally
Golly, what a day

-Oo-De-Lally, from Robin Hood

Yes it is a little late to be reminiscing on my year in 2009, but i got to thinking today and i felt the need to. 2009 was a crazy crazy year, we had some problems in the family, quite a few ups and downs: new babies, and well… some scares too. I have willingly coated myself in mud not once, but twice, just for art. That is what i call suffering for my art, i think. I’ve met new friends, gotten closer to old ones, and even made some critical decisions that have changed me. I’ve had the best and happiest times, but also some of the worst times, but all in all it’s a part of life, right? It seems like time is going too fast and i wish it would slow down. I’ve begun to think about college and what i am going to do for well… possibly the rest of my life. It is scary, and exciting at the same time. I want to leave high school and keep moving forward, but i don’t want to just move too fast.

in short, 2009 was a very interesting year. In ways it was amazing and fun, but it was also at times depressing and even scary. I got to thinking today about everything i have gone through and even when it was the lowest i thought it could get, things always worked out in the end, after quite a bit of time on occasion. I have discovered a happy list, which is probably the best thing to have ever been thought up. I got all my friends and my family there for me and i want to be sure to return the favors :) I think if 2009 went so well in the end and helped me grow so much, then bring on 2010! I am ready for it and whatever it throws at me. I’m just gonna listen to Roger Miller and reminisce on the good times, and never worry too much about what is in store. I’ll live it and remember, good ol’ Robin Hood :) oo-de-lally oo-de-lally, golly what a day.
